Our Practice

Provider

Julie Reeves, MAS, LAC, NMT™-Informed Clinician

Founder & CEO, Mind Harmony

Julie Reeves is a trauma-informed mental health therapist and developmental brain mapping specialist with over 12 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families impacted by trauma and adversity. She is the founder and CEO of Mind Harmony, a practice dedicated to providing evidence-based, developmentally sensitive, and biologically respectful mental health care.

Julie’s work is grounded in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics© (NMT™), a brain-based approach that focuses on understanding how early experiences shape brain development and behavior. She is independently NMT™ Phase I Trained and Certified, enabling her to provide comprehensive brain-mapping assessments and individualized treatment recommendations. Julie is especially passionate about helping clients and caregivers understand the “why” behind behaviors and emotional responses, reducing blame and increasing compassion, clarity, and hope.

Julie holds a Master’s Degree in Infant Mental Health from Arizona State University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She is licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC). Her clinical background includes work in child welfare, family preservation, intensive outpatient treatment, group therapy, and infant and early childhood mental health.

Throughout her career, Julie has worked closely with at-risk and vulnerable populations, including children and families involved in foster care and adoption, individuals with complex trauma histories, and clients who have not benefited from traditional therapy approaches. Her style is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based, with a strong emphasis on nervous system regulation, safety, and developmental readiness.

At the heart of Julie’s work is the belief that healing happens best when clients feel understood and supported at every level—mind and body. She strives to create a calm, welcoming therapeutic space where clients and families feel empowered, validated, and equipped with practical tools for growth and healing.

Outside of her professional work, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She loves baking, traveling, swimming, and exploring new restaurants around the Valley—activities that help her stay grounded and connected, both personally and professionally.

Julie provides NMT™-informed services and brain mapping assessments, which are not diagnostic but are used to guide therapeutic planning and intervention.

Philosophy

Developmental trauma, chaos and neglect can result in complex functional compromise in multiple domains including physiological, motor, emotional, social and cognitive.

A developmentally sensitive and neurobiology informed clinical approach can aid the clinical team in understanding the impact of maltreatment and other developmental insults.

The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics© (NMT) is an evidence-based practice that can provide a practical and useful clinical framework to help clinicians identify the strengths and vulnerabilities of the maltreated child and implement developmentally appropriate therapeutic, educational and enrichment.
